Crazy morning visitor.
So it's 8:30 am on a Saturday and our doorbell rings. We are, of course, still sleeping.
DH gets out of bed to answer it and it's a man asking if the Nivens are home.
So DH tells the man that the Nivens moved out 4 YEARS AGO and the man says "But I'm supposed to drop off my son for a playdate!" and points to his son (about 6 years old) who's standing by the car.
Then he just stands there looking at us. So after a few seconds of this DH says, "I don't know what to tell you, we don't know where they live."
And the guy says "But I googled them and found this address." Like maybe they really do still live here and WE aren't sure??!!?? 
So we offer to look them up in the phone book, but they aren't listed.
So again he's just standing there staring at us. And finally DH says "Sir, they do not live here anymore. I don't know how else I can help you. Maybe you should go back to your home and see if you can find their new address somewhere else."
And then the guy has the nerve to say "Thanks a lot" in a really mean sarcastic tone, like it's our fault that he has no idea where his kid's friends live. Then he storms off the porch yells at his son to get in the car and speeds off. 
What a wacko!!

that is so wierd.....i would have been freaked out...the kid and his dad didn't know it was the wrong place?
we still get alot of calls for "pam" and "steve" who used to have our phone number (about a year ago now!), including their sisters who always say "oh yeah, sorry" when they call from the west coast at like 1 or 2 in the morning....but luckily they didn't live where we do too or who knows!

Yes, he was definitely unstable.
I was just telling my friend about it she said maybe he is a divorced dad who got the kid for the weekend and now his wife is going to kick his butt for getting it wrong!
I do NOT want to see him again. He has issues!!
And yes, to me 8:30 is WAAAAY early for a play date. Makes me wonder if he got that wrong too!

however strange that is you were a lot more kind to the guy then i would have been. I would have just said you have the wrong house, shut the door and went back to bed. You went and tried to find out were this person lives for him and he still got po because he didnt know were they lived, what a nut. I feel sorry for that kid

I agree, it sounds like he wanted you to invite his kid in for a playdate with you.
