We had been using oragel and tablets for teething with Jack and he had a tendency to almost have a tooth cut thru and then it would squirrell back up. When he was sick the mean nurse at the clinic triaged him and we were discussing this.

Her solution that she did with her kids was put some infant benadryl on a qtip and rub it on his gums because the antihistamies will help with the puffiness without toughing up the gums the way Oragel can which may make the time he has teething longer.

I've been doing this occasionally and his top eye teeth popped right thru ASAP.
