did you play any games at your baby shower?

I have some out of state friends coming to my baby shower, and they were talking about games, etc.......I've only been to baby showers in NY, and I've never played one game.

Are there any fun, cute things to do?

Yes we play games.
I'm trying to remember....
One was a bunch of baby stuff in a gift bag (ie pacifier, washcloth, bottle, etc) and you get to feel for a minute say then you have to right down everything you can identify that you touched.

Another was everyone brought a baby picture and they were hung up and numbered and you had to guess what picture belonged to who. This is good if its a small group and everyone knows each other.

There's the baby food game where you taste and indentify baby food.

We had a nursery rhyme game where we had to fill in the blanks.

The winner of each game got a prize.

I have to say at my showers in NY (bridal and wedding) we didnt' play games but at my CO showers we did.

I think games are fun, break the ice and pass the time but here we have house showers so we aren't limited on time like at a restaurant.

We played Bingo at mine and I've played it at other baby showers I've been to. Its just like the bridal shower bingo where you mark off the baby items on a sheet as the mom opens them til you have Bingo.

I've heard of:

Guess the baby food - unmarked jars of baby food you have to taste

Word Scramble - have scrambled words of baby items on a sheet and first one to figure all out gets a price.

There are some doozies on this site..

Our family is not really into games- this is what we did. People loved it so much they took the idea and used at future showers.

You have a timer.. set it for 1 min, two min, 3 min- you can do various times, depending on how many people are at the shower

When the timer goes off, whoevers gift is being opened, they get a prize from the prize basket or prize bowl.

For gifts I got mini candles, Bath and body works items (picked up things when they had those great sales) nailpolish, scratchoffs, little things that dotn cost too much.

It keeps the guests alert when the gifts are being opened and they love getting gifts too!!!

Yea we played two games at my shower-

one was Baby Bingo and the other was the tape measure game of Mommy-to-be Belly. The person with the length of string that matched my belly WON!

Games are tons of fun and helps pass the time at shower!

At my shower we played a game using two sonogram pics of the baby.. everyone had to write down how many weeks they thought the baby was at that point, and the closest ones WON PRIZES.. it was funny cause the 2 sono techs that were at my shower and scanned me thruout my whole pregnancy couldnt even figure out how many weeks.. it was fun to hear the answers!!

We had a couple of games. I made up these diaper pins for everyone and inside of a few was a poop stain. Whoever had the poopie diaper won a prize. I also had the guess how many jelly beans were in the baby bottle and a game to give away the centerpieces (whoever had the sticky under their chair at the table won). It was alot of fun.

We played bingo and the pin game - You can't say the name baby or else you have to give your pin to the person who caught you. The person wit the most pins wins.

I was just at a shower with a few games. One of them, the Mom to be walked around holding a try with baby items on it and then she left the room. She said nothing as she was walking around. Everyone thought we had to remember what was on the tray and write it down biut really the game was to write down exactly what she was wearing-including all accessories. Nobody was expecting that!

Then when they cam back with the tray everyone got a piece of paper with everything listed that was on the tray--we were told they were bought at Target and had to guess how much each item cost--it was all totalled up and whoever was closest won.

We played the funniest game at my SIL's shower.
They took 10 newborn diapers and put a different melted candy in each one. Twix, MilkyWay, Mars, Peppermint Patty, etc and everybody had to guess the candy.

It was a little gross but hilarious.

well these are games I wanted to do at my shower .. but I didn't have one do to mother nature and the blizzard of 06..
Ok anyway,
you get a bunch of baby bottles and put water etc in them then you pick a person from each table to be in a chugging contest the 1st one to finish wins.. the trick i syou can steam some of the nipples shut so people can't drin kthat quick..
i also had the little babies in the cups.. There are little plastic babies that you freeze in dixie cups and you put them all over the table and when a person yells my water broke they win.. its really funny seeing how people will melt the ice..
