Chinese Gender Calendar
Ok, I am on my last pack of BCP and then I am going to start the prenatal vitamins. But we figured we would start TTCing whenever but then I showed DH the chinese gender calendar and now he says we have to wait until Feb. because it says we will have a boy!  I want a boy too but come on... thats another 6 months from now.

dont go by that.... they're not always right.... tell ur dh, you'll be happy to deliver whatever seed he plants....tell him its all on him!

But I can see the "what if" factor involved. If we both want a boy, why not wait? And then on the other hand it seems like more of a superstitious choice than anything else.

do what makes you and your dh happy.... I just feel if your ready now then try now, after all what if you cant get prego immediately and it takes 6 months? Just keep that in mind....
but i wish you lots of

I wouldn't rely on that. Just look at all the polls that have been done on the pregnancy and parenting boards and how wrong they have been. Plus, there's more than one calendar out there!

it was wrong for me... said that i should be having a girl, when i'm having a boy. also opposite of my two sister in-laws...
shettles method says that you should BD closer to your ovulation day (on the day of or day after), b/c boy spermies will swim faster to the egg, but don't last long, while if you want a girl, BD a few days before ovulation, since girl spermies live longer, but are slower---
this is a theory though as well. good luck!

it's an internet gimmick - I thought it was cute and tried applying it to my 5 friends who were pregnant - and it was WRONG for all of them!

What if you put off TTC till feb and you end up with a
I say as long as baby is healthy and you and DH are ready, just get to it
DH and I would PREFER a first but would not put off TTC according to the chart.

I mean after the BCP month is over... we arent going to use any protection and go with the "what ever happens" method.

i agree with the "whatever happens method"...you know how bad my DH wanted his boy..now look at him with bella?! he even said he wouldnt mind another girl if we have another baby. plus think of all the GIRL CLOTHES... you may not get pregnant for a few months anyway, especially that you have been on the pill and everything...i heard 3-6 months. i say go with your original plan when you wanted to TTC
i cant wait to take our kids for walks and all the other fun things i hope we will get to do together!!!!!!

Remember, it's his chromosome that determines the sex of the baby, and nothing else. Although the Chinese Gender Calendar is cute, it's a gimmick and has about as much validity as any of the old wives tales that you hear. Either way, you have a 50/50 chance of having a boy, so waiting will not make a difference. So just enjoy TTC and let nature take its course.
