I got my first real inappropriate comment today...
I had mentioned the other day to some people that I had my Level II coming up in a few weeks and couldn't wait to find out the sex. One of those people came up to me today and felt compelled to tell me that researchers were conducting a study that possibly suggests a link between repeated exposure to sonograms and autism, and I shouldn't just get sonograms to get them, like to determine the sex of the baby (obviously bringing up what I had mentioned the other day). I mentioned that the Level II was not for entertainment purposes, was actually for medical purposes, and that finding out the sex was an added bonus for us. I also said that I had 6 sonograms already, all for specific medical reasons, and how was I supposed to feel about this information? I mean, really, how is this information supposed to make me feel good? No matter what I said, that ultrasounds/sonos have been around for 30 years, that there is no longitudinal study stating anything remotely close to that (especially in a human being), etc., this person had an argument for!
I couldn't believe this person did not let up. I just don't understand people that intentionally try to scare you and make you feel badly. I am just starting to show and I know there will be many more inappropriate comments to come. I just find it difficult to smile and walk away without saying something rude back  .

dont let it bother u - u should have told him that researchers are also conducting a study realizing that there are way to many a******* in the world!!!!!

Thank you. The worst part was this person was a woman and works in the medical field! Oh, and has been pregnant before.

ughhhhh u have to be kidding me!!!! i totally thought it would have been a man!!!! hello she should realize that its "not for fun"!!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!!!!??????

What a jerk. How dare she try to scare you like that. If she's been pregnant she should what a Level II is and that it is not soley for the purpose of finding out the sex.

First off she is an idiot and secondly all the new studies that I have heard (I have researched it and spoke to my OBGYN since I get a sono every time) have never once mentioned Autism
