Last year I was due for jury duty around the second week of school, I postponed till March... and then just had to call in the whole week!!
You could postpone automatically one time--no questions asked--pick a time when you KNOW you'll need a day off--I was looking forward to it!!

ohhh, good idea!!! I may do this... as long as the date doesn't land when we're going on our cruise.

lol...
I'd rather they DIDN'T call at all, but if I had to go, I'd go the first week of school. Everything is still new for the kids, and they won't miss me much. Besides, 8th grade assessments don't start for much later, so not much teaching time will be lost.

I just got my summons also! I'm trying to find a way to get out of it. I'm a Kindergarten teacher and the first few weeks of school are hard enough as it is, I would rather do it after the kids are used to school and the routines.
Hopefully they will understand- if not then

I picked the date that I wanted to be called, and sure enough, I got a new jury summons for that exact date!!
