Re: Key West

I know there have been posts on this before, maybe do a search.

Definitely get to Blue Heaven for breakfast!!

And to the end of Duvall for sunset.

Sloppy Joes is a fun place to get...well...sloppy!!

Can't recommend our B&B as it was next to a gay disco and the walls shook all night long.

Re: Key West

Definitely recommend Blue Heaven for breakfast or lunch! YUMMMMM!!
Cheeseburger had good burgers (obviously by the name that's their specialtyChat Icon )
Mallory Square Sunset Festival is fun... a little busy, but it's fun to see the street performers and see the sunset.
I went with the family, so the bar scene wasn't explored, can't help ya there..
We went to the Dolphin Research Center in Marathon (I think) and the kids liked that.
You'll love it there... I want to go back.

ETA - oh yeah, we acted like tourists and took the trolley tour, it was ok, an easy way to see the island. And DO NOT for the Love of god stay at the El Rancho Motel.. the worst experience EVER.. thank goodness we only stayed there the night we got in and then went to the house in Marathon
Here's some pics, if you don't mind weeding though a million pics of my kids Chat Icon link to pics

Re: Key West

Soooo jealous - came back two weeks ago - miss it already!!

I agree about Cheeseburger - excellent!!

Old Towne Cafe is excellent Mexican - we've eaten there numerous visits to key west

Flying Monkeys Saloon - BEST frozen drinks, more laid back than Fat Tuesdays

Kelly's - restaurant owned by Kelly McGillis - good food, outside seating is really romantic

Blue Heaven for lunch or dinner

We rented a house in Marathon Link .... there are a lot of cute bed and breakfasts in Key West and some bigger hotels too, so it depends what you're looking for Chat Icon

Thanks everyone! Blue Heaven was delicious!! Sloppy Joe's was fun too! We had a nice time, but unfortunately our trip back took forever!

We stayed at the Douglas House which is near the Southernmost point (farthere away from all the lively bars, but really pretty). We went to the Duval Beach club one day which was great...and the sunsets were beautiful!!

I just wish it wasn't so hot!! This is their off season, but I can't imagine what it is like in August!!Chat Icon
