October is adopt a shelter dog month....
If you or anyone you know wants to get a dog, please look into adopting or rescuing a dog. Shelter dogs(and cats) make the best pets. They are so happy to have a good home.
A great place to start is petfinders.com and

Okay...My DH are in the we want a second dog mode again...we are too crazy....As always...I will wait a few days, see how I feel, LOL. THANKFULLY he is too busy this weekend to go look at the two dogs we are interested in. So we will have to see if they are available still next weekend...

NSAL does great things for pets, but a lot people go there for a pet.
I recommend any kill shelter or Little Shelter for anyone who wishes to adopt a pet.

It really is a wonderful organization, I have the link bookmarked, and check it out all the time. I have spoken to Eric...he does amazing things for animals. i was interested in adopting a dog from spb before I got Barney, but the one I was interested in was adopted. I can't believe how much it has grown since then. I am hesistant to adopt from so far away though, because I really want a cohesive match. We want to be a good family for the dog, and we want the dog to be good for our family.

We just adopted our doggie from a shelter last month! I am so glad we did. She is wonderful and so loving!! She probably never had any love before...but she has so much to give!
