So I had my "1 year and no baby appointment "
And the doctor went over my history again, asked me if I used OPKs etc etc. I have to call when I get AF and go for blood tests on the 3rd day of AF. Then I have to see the nurse practicioner to go over the results and we will take it from there. My DH also has to go for a semen analysis.
When she mentioned the word "infertility" it became clear to me how real this was. Another patient was standing nearby and wished me good luck - she said "I've been there too!" (and she was pg  !) The doctor also reminded me that if I am going to committ to this 100% I will need to take time off from work, etc for last minute appts etc. I think I am going to speak to my boss in private and make her aware so she doesn't think I am calling in sick for no good reason.
As I drove away I started crying because it just hit me how real it has become and that I could either have a long road ahead of me of TTC or I could be a mommy to be soon - it was a very strange emotion!!! But I am glad to start the official process. Now the only thing I have to do is talk to my mom - I want her to know what I am going through and I need her support.

Best of luck to you. The girls on the infertility board have been awesome ,although (happily) they seem to be dwindling.

Jen,
I thought I reaponded to this post! Im sorry I didnt (my head has been in the clouds LOL)
I think you are doing the right thing. It ***** to admit that there may be a fertility issue, but once you do and you start moving forward with diagnostic tests you will feel much better.
It takes SO much pressure off you because the doctors are working on finding the answers for you. IT was such a relief to me.
As for talking to your boss, I did the same thing. I went right into him and laid it all out on the table. I didnt really WANT to tell my boss about my blocked tube, etc BUT it had to be done because I needed him to cut me some slack about time off and being late. He has been FANTASTIC this whole time, it really helps.
I wish you much luck on your journey and I hope you get answers quickly and get PG soon!

Jen - I just wanted to join in with all the well wisher's and send you lot's of luck. The positive thing about all of this is that you will be monitored very closely and will have a much better chance of recieving that BFP!
