Not a Mom but have done some research for a friend. Your baby may be too young but rice cereal in their bottles is supposed to help. Also putting the baby to sleep on her left side because the stomach is bigger on that side and food has less of a chance of coming back up.

Sydney has reflux and we did the same things you listed plus keep her upright for at least 20 minutes after each feed.

Re: Moms of Acid reflux babies

The only thing that really worked with Kevin's reflux is time. He takes Axid for his and he should be weaning off of it soon. It help a bit but what I really think worked the best was him growing out of the spitting up stage. Many baby's have some form of reflux (spitting up). Unfortunately some babies experience more severe symptoms than others.

All of the above suggestions are right on track and just give the medicine time to work. As soon as the muscle at the top of her esophagus tightens up (around 6 - 9 months) the spitting up will start to slow down on its own and the reflux should start going away.
(This is just reiterating what my son's pediatric GI told me)

I hope she feels better soon! Chat Icon

Sara also has reflux. She was using Zantac but we are weaning her off of it because the cereal in the bottle seems to be working. She does still spit up but not as bad. We also old her up right for about 20 minutes after she eats

My doctor did suggest to feed her smaller amounts at attime but still the same amouint per day. For example, instead of a 6 oz bottle at 11AM give her 3 oz at 10 and 3 oz at 12. She is still getting the same but more frequently and less at a time. I of course did not follow the suggestion but I know it does work
