DS HATES the carseat!!!!

I don't know what to do anymore. DS is a great baby (he's 11 weeks), but he absolutely HATES being in his carseat. He screams bloody murder whenever we're in the car. He has toys hanging on the bar, and a mirror which is really for me to see him. My FIL saw him screaming and told me he needs a better car seat because he shouldn't be screaming like that Can the carseat make a difference???? I have the Graco snugride, which millions of other people have. I don't understand it. Any ideas?

Is it the car seat or being in the car he doesn't like? Bring the car seat in the house and put him in then. See what happens.
I think he may not like the car ride.

Don't have any suggestions but my friend went through the same thing with her daughter. She would scream for entire car trips. She eventually got better. I guess some babies just don't like car rides.

My sister's daughter is almost 6 months and she still SCREAMS in the car seat. My sister lives in Rocky Point too so she is so far from everything and can't go on trips because of it.

Hopefully your son will grow out of it as he gets older!

I am with you too. Nicholas cries about 8/10 times in the car.W h ave the snugride too. I think he just hates being in that carseat cause he screams too when we are shopping and I have him in the snap and go.

ALl I can do is try to avoid long car trips unless my husband or I can sit with him in the backseat and alm him down. Good Luck!!!

I do bring the car seat in the house to put him in it. The lip curls as soon as he's in it. And then the wailing screams. I hope he gets used to it soon. My parents live about 45 minutes away and I've been going there a lot while I've been off. I usually have a major headache by the time I get there.

My DS was the same way and it lasted up until he was 2.5 months old. The thing that changed was a car ride to NJ and back so he was in the carseat for 4 hours that day and he didnt make a peep. Now he is 4 months old and good if it's just me in the car. If he cry's it is usually because it is time for him to eat or he is over tired and he will not stop crying. On the weekends when we go out as a family I have to sit in the back because it's like he know's i'm "available". It will get better.

My grandson was exactly the same way. My daughter has a car seat in each of her cars and I have one in mine and he didn't like being in any of them (all are different). He is now seven months old and has grown out of crying every time he goes in. I think he didn't like being confined, but, now he's used to it and just accepts it. Give him time, he'll, eventually, just learn to accept it.
