Did we lose another one?? The gaps are huge.
Everytime I hear the announcement "The LIRR asks that you please watch the gaps between the platform and the train., my mind adds "because we will get sued & need to raise all of your ticket prices once again."

A girl posted a letter in the Post yesterday about how a few years back she fell through the gap and is now paralyzed. I believe she said this happened in 2004 and LIRR is dragging their feet during the court case and holding it up for years. She said they owe the courts paperwork and if they don't get it by today, the case will be postponed AGAIN!!
She posted a web site for people to sign to petition and get the LIRR to WAKE UP and do something about it!!

The LIRR ones are huge. Not huge enough for me to fall through though.  the subway ones arent that bad at all. You have to be Nicole Ritchie to fall through one of those!

It happened to me while I was 5 months pregnant. Someone rushed past me while trying the train and from the impact my foot slid down into the gap. It was one of the scariest moments of my life. Thankfully some people helped me up and I was completely fine. But I was so terrified.
