UPDATE!!!! Hershey's Homecoming is Tonight! This should be on Pets, but I want feedback now
has anyone's dog had heartworm?
My 10 year old lab tested positive for heartworm and is going for treatment tomorrow for 5 days.
I am really anxious and scared for her. Did anyone else's dog experience this?

I am sorry, I have no advice. Ebony (Lab.) had bloat (life-threatening), was hit by a car, and recently had lyme disease -- and has pulled through them all. He's 11 and still acts like a puppy. I am sure the Vet will take the best care of your pup possible!!

Thank you for sharing your experience. 
I trust my Vet and Hershey knows how much we love her. I will be visiting her everyday. She had a special dinner tonight that included steak.

Oh wow -- all I got was chopped meat!! LOL. Good lcuk and keep us posted - on here or pets, I check both.

I definitely will, thank you for the support! She is my baby and I am so upset she got this.
It's a long story how she got this, but it is totally preventable as long as the dog is on the heartworm pill once a month. I love my DH, but he forget to give her and my other lab the pills for 2 months, I was so ******!
Hershey tested positive, Sarge tested negative.

my uncles dog had it. he died, but he was old. heartworm is treatable.

My dog growing up had it. I don't remember much except him coming home from the vet shaved and my parents put a man's undershirt on him. But he definitely didn't die from it, he lived many many years after it!
Hand in there today - I know it will be hard

I am so excited, Hershey has been at the Vet since Monday morning receiving treatment for heartworm.
SHE COMES HOME TONIGHT!!!!
