anyone take lamaze classes at winthrop?

if so what did they entail? were they worth it?

I did, about 2 years ago. I really liked the instructors, but for the life of me I can't remember their names. One was Betty I think, an older lady. Maybe the other one was Pat?

Anyway, I did not take the class to learn how to breathe! I took the class to be informed, about every detail, from admitting procedures, to what pain meds are offered and when, to what happens along the way, etc. Pus, the last class they give you a tour of the labor and delivery rooms and such. Also, I think it was a big step for my DH to get to know these things. He was petrified of the whole birth process, and I think having him there to learn along the way really helped, IMO.

The class was $150, which they ended up refunding to us for messing up the class schedule on us and not telling us the class was delayed a week (and we showed up!). So for us it was worth it.
