I am so opposed to giving animals as presents, especially for the holidays. So many of those animals are homeless within weeks

That being said, almost 30 years ago, my brother and I did get live bunnies for Easter. My parents thoroughly researched it and my Dad was secretly building a "bunny house" for them with a pen in the garage. I'll never forget creeping down the stairs at the crack of dawn that morning and seeing in the den what I thought was a stuffed animal in a cage... was I surprized when it moved R.I.P. Cottontail... I know so original.

That Bunny looks just like our classroom bunny. Our Rabbit is 5 months old and we were thinking about getting her a companion for Easter. We've only had her for two months now, but it's amazing how fast I've become a rabbit person. I love to spoil her. Rabbits can be great pets for childern, if you take the time to teach them how to treat and take care of them. It took us a good month to get into a routine and for everyone, including the bunny to feel comfortable. Rabbit are not low maintence at all, they are messing and needy and you have to pet them alot or they will nit at you everytime you try to touch them or put your hand in thier cage. Anyway, it's sad that people abuse bunnies the way they do. People who are thinking about getting a Bunny for Easter should to do the research before buying one.
