To be honest, I wasn't feeling it. Our union rep does very little and I didn't even know we were picketing till I got to work yesterday morning!

And now that I am sort of in a weird spot between admin and teachers, I see a different side. I see too many teachers who do nothing and don't deserve employment, never mind a raise. I really think that the tenure system needs reform. Not saying do away with it (because I have worked for INSANE supervisors who would fire people for stupid readons) but it does protect bad teachers.

That said, I do work with some fabulous teachers and it's not fair that some ruin it for all.

Sorry to hijack. I'm just frustrated.

my SIL called to see if they were picketing by my sons school which they were, but she wasnt aware of it either. Were you guys in a uniformed colorr? her school was wearing red tops

i heard about the red uniform look but not until yesterday afternoon, so none of us did it, but yes, i picketed. alll the kids thought we were on strike. they were so concerned. but we picketed and we had a lot of parents saying you have our support!!!

As I said, my school's chapter is SO not together. There was another day when we were supposed to wear red and half the staff had no idea.

I think valentines day. my Sil told me about that day also. I think there was anmother day too. my sons school didnt do that day they just did yeaterday
