Does anyone know the average price of propane?

I think that if you look on keyspan's website they publish their rates.

Or did you mean just to get a tank filled for a BBQ?

Well we have a 50 gallon tank.It was here when we moved in but I believe if you want to start new you call a gas co. and they come install it you pay a deposit. We use Vitale Gas in Bohemia. We get it filled once a month probably between 40-45 gallons and it is reoughly $75. HTH
ETA: we use it for Dryer, Stove and hot water so we might use more than you if you were just planning on using it for 1 or 2 appliances

Ok - here is my situation.
We have a tank outside, they came on 12/24 and filled the tank - we were almost of empty. It took about 86 gallons. They charged us $3.04 a gallon

They came again yesterday and filled up - we weren't on empty - it took about 63 gallons, they charged us $3.04 a gallon.

Is this the going rate? I would think that 2 or 3 months later the price would have changed a little.
