Had my AFP tonight, can I ask for some prayers?
I had my AFP tonight...and wanted to ask for some  that everything comes back OK  Thanks!

how long till you get the results??
I wanted the AFP, its just blood work....but the results of this and the level II will help us decide if we should go ahead and have the amnio done too.
They said they would get the results in 7-10 days...and they will call me with good or bad results.
I'm nervous, it's going to be a long week!!

I'm sure everything is fine. Do you have a reason to think it won't be? What week are you in now? Sometimes if they do it before week 16 it comes back false positive.

and evrything comes back fine!! I'm sure it will all be ok!! THey told me with two of mine I was borderline for spinabifida and when I went for my level II it showed evrything was a ok.

There is a family history of spina bifida, open skull syndrome and fragile X in my family...so we've opted to have the Ultrascreen, the AFP and the level II sono. Pending those results, we will discuss the need (or not) for an amnio.
I'm praying we don't have to discuss the amnio...I don't want it done. With a 1/200 chance of losing the baby, it's a risk I would rather not take.

I'm sure everything will be fine. Did you have genetic testing before you got pregnant? That may ease your fears a little.
I was also concerned, but everything came out negative. It will all be fine. I took my test on Monday and had the results thursday morning.
