I really didn't know I was having this, and they did ask first, but she measured the membrane over the spine - said it looked perfectly fine, but they still took so blood from finger to send to lab. Does everyone get this done?

That is the new way to test for downs syndrome. My sister had it done. My Dr did it the old way and my numbers were not perfect so he sent me for any amnio on Wednesday. I should have my results back either today or tomorrow.

yep I had it done as well. they do it pretty routinely now as long as you agree to it.

We had it done, the sonon then the blood drawn from the finger. All looked great, thank God!

I am going in about 3/9 for this.
My Dr said they do it this way instead of the old way beacause the old way would have a lot of false positives.

Yes everyone who has the Ultrascreen done will have these tests done. I dont think they should even have to ask since the purpose of the test itself it to screen to see if there are any soft markers for downs or other similar things.
