STAR Program
How does one find out if your application for star was processed or not? I handed in all the paperwork back in december and havent heard anything yet. Any ideas? Thank you.

from what i hear, you dont get anything...just money off... since you filled it out in Dec, it wont take affect untill oct or so of this year

last year we rec'd a postcard in teh mail confirming that they had our paperwork for review.
However we never knew if we got the discount until we got our tax bill from our bank and it was lower than last year!

If you applied in Dec 2005, the STAR discount won't apply until the 2007 tax year. Your application has to be filed by March 1 to apply to the following year. I would call your town for confirmation.

how long did the postcard take once you submitted your info to the town?
i thought the recepict you get from the town was just as important?

Us too...now I wonder if they contact the bank. Our taxes come out with our mortgage every month...
