This is so random, but does anyone else take Flaxseed oil?

I take 2 tbps of Barleans ground flax every day but I just started; wondering what improvements (if any) you see in hair, skin, nails?

I take this. I was taking the oil, but now I take pills. I have arthritis and I have seen much improvement with that. As far as hair and nails, I really haven't seen anything, but my hair is very healthy to begin with, so I'm not a good judge.

I have been thinking about taking them...I heard only good things about it.

how big are the pills you are taking?

I started drinking the oil, but it made me feel nauseaus. I would like to start taking the pills though.

They are pretty big. I have no problem swallowing pills, they are like the size of vitamins, but it is in a capsul. If you can't swallow large pills, then I suggest you get the liquid form. You can put it in your orange juice, or anything really that you drink. One Tbsp a day.

i don't take the oil, but I eat granola with flaxseed in it everyday. I have seen a difference in my skin and nails, but my hair has always been shiny and full.

ETA: This was before pregnancy that I started eating it everyday and so I know it's not just the pregnancy that is making all those thigns happen

Usually, capsules are 1000 milligrams. I read you have to take about 14 a day if you want the benefits of just 1 or 2 tbsp of flaxseed.

So, I don't do the capsules. The oil makes me sick....so I find that the ground flax (Barleans Forti-Flax) is really tolerable. I put like 2 tbsp in my cereal and it's actually good!

In the past I have taken the flax seeds themselves and put them in the coffee grinder to make them more 'fine'...and then sprinkle on salad or ceral. the oil is a bit of adjustment ---after months in the frig, it went in the garbage....my hats off to anyone who does take the oil....

I was so surprised to see this post! I just started taking flaxseed oil gel capsules 3 days ago! (I'm starting with just one 1,000 mg pill and plan on bumping it up to two and then three - I read that 2-3 a day are recommended.) Anyway, this probably sounds crazy, but when I looked in the mirror this morning, my skin looked really good, much better than usual! I thought I was imagining things at first, but even my Mom and DH noticed. I definitely plan on continuing to take these things!

I used to grind the seeds and put them in my salads. Barely noticable in taste but I did notice a difference in my skin. But since I can't swallow pills and got lazy with the grinding, I stopped.
