I have NEVER been MORE INFURIATED with a doctor while on my cruise! ****UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, we are on the Crown Princess... beautiful ship. I had a bad UTI 3 weeks ago. I check my messgaes form puerto rico, my ob/gyn leaves me a messgae I have to call him RIGHT away. I flip out, here I am in the middle of the cruise hearing this. The first time he is too busy to get to the phone. I am in hysterics, and shaking and trying to convince myself I am okay. Call #2, we are leaving form the port in 1 hour, his royal highness gets on the phone- very nasty mind you... " You have a microscopic amount of blood in your urine. okay- I was spotting when I took the test. Sorry if TMI. I need to go to a urologist. I was like maybe the infection is not gone, or it is from the spotting I had... he would not answer me and threw me off the phone with an atttitude, mind you I was able to squeeze in fast - did my pap come back yet? No- not yet. So, it is 3 weeks later, and this is what the BIG emergency is? I spent the rest of the night on my criise crying and shaking- now I have to go to my internist , I am just going to have him repeat the test, to make sure it is gone. I was sooo shook up. I told DH I wanted to go home. I have not relaxed yet. Has anyone heard of a docotor being so abrupt for somehting like this. THE NERVE! I am never going back there- EVER and I am hoping I can enjoy my cruise. yes, I am writing this from the inetrnet cafe on the ship. You girls always make me feel better. Thanks for letting me vent.Ps Sorry for typos, i am paying by the minute....

the man I was using is a complete MORON!! I got Af today, the beginning of it, while in Grand Turk. Hello.... I was ovulating when I took the urine test. (Sorry if TMI) This doctor calls himself an OB/GYN? why did he not ask me if I was mid cycle?! I am not going to ever go back to him! DH and I spoke about it, we do not want him or anyone in this practice to deliver our babies, when I get pregnant. He will drive me nuts for 9 months. What a JERK!
Anyone have this happen to them? I am not going to even think twice about it was from my ovulating.

I am so sorry your doctor treated you like this.. is there anything he said you should do for the infection?
maybe you could see the ship's doctor if you are truly concerned?

What a JERK!!!
DON'T worry... you will be OKAY. Chalk this up to his lack of couth and try to enjoy the rest of the trip. Instead of crying, put your energy into how you're going to confront him when you get back. Think of something REALLY good, and then switch doctors like you said.
I'd personally leave a message at his office today (wait until it's after hours so you can leave it on the machine) letting him know that you are angered by the message and you will speak to him when you get back. THEN just let it go for the rest of the time you're away.
What an idiot...
Try to relax! We're here if you need us!!! Now go lay out and catch some rays, girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally not cool! I agree - switch doctors. If it was SERIOUS, SERIOUS he would have had you come in right away...enjoy the rest of your cruise -- and switch to cranberries & vodka !

I feel so bad for you! Please try to have a good time!! Same thing happened to me one time when I got the test done and I told them that I was beginning to get my period and they said not to worry about it. As long as you are feeling better I would not worry about it now. You can always go and get a test done when you get back. I would call him back when you get home and tell him how he made you feel and that he was completely unprofessional. I would also tell him that I was telling all of my friends and family how insensitive he is. I have UTI problems all of the time and that does not sound abnormal to me. Just reassure yourself that you will take care of him when you get home. Relax now and enjoy your trip!

Sounds like it is time to switch doctors!
I am so sorry you have to go through this.
I don't understand why doctors and their practices treat people like this.
I am so happy I found a Dr. I love. I feel very lucky!

I am sorry you had to deal with a VERY unprofessional Dr BUT........... DO NOT Let it upset you while on vacation! When you come home deal with it but in the mean time go enjoy your much needed vacation with your wonderful DH and stay off the internet & do not call home!  Go do what you went to do......RELAX!!!!!!!!

3 pieces of advise
-see the ships doctor to see if they can do anything for you
-find a new doctor that has a better attitude and knows the difference between urgent and non urgent then when you get home, make an appointment with the new doctor and go in to see that new doctor, get a new pap with the new doctor and a new unialysis
-enjoy your cruise and dont let that jerk get to you....you are obviously fine, it seems like a monor thing...dont let him ruin the cruise you paid so much for and the vacation that you probably needed badly

That is horrible!!! Find a new doctor. But don't let it ruin your cruise.
BTW relax and have a fabulous cruise - I want a full report when you get back I am going on the Crown in Nov!

Hi! Just got back from dinner at the steakhouse, i feel so full, but it was so yummy. Had a glass of wine, I am a little dizzy but feel a lot more relaxed then I was. I am so angry at this man.
I am goign to do exactly what u all told me, get a new test by my regulkar doctor ( Internist) to make sure it is gone. I am not goign to even mention what had happened to him and let him just run the test.What a jerk this man is. I also want to report him some how to a medical bd, but not sure how to do this or if it even worth it? Thanks to all of ypu for the support. I felt so isolated since yesterday. I am still nervous to check my machine.... I am no way using this dr. for when I have a baby, the man would be a jerk and drive me nuts. UGH!!!! I get very emotional with medical issues, becuase both my mom and dad and MIL have all passed, so I FREAK when I have to have any medical things done.

I am so sick of unprofessional doctors- I fired one this year too. 
I am sure it is related to your spotting that test time so go enjoy your cruise and DON"T WORRY!

Don't worry. I just had that happen to me recently and it was nothing. But what your doctor SHOULD have done was have you come back for another urine test instead of telling you to go to a urologist, and scaring you. That is absolutely ridiculous. But again, don't worry...spotting or chafing are common causes of trace blood in the urine.
