QUICK HELP NEEDED RE CONSTIPATION

I think my baby has been so miserable lately because of constipation. Since her new doc told me to be adding twice the rice to her bottles I think she can't go now. I have cut back to the original amount of rice and I want to give her juice to help her go but I can't remember if I should be giving pear or white grape or apple.

I'm going to the grocery store as soon as I change my clothes so if somebody knows what I should be giving, please remind me.

Thank you so much in advance!

Prune juice always worked for us right in the bottle. But you can also try using the thermometer with a little vasaline.

Re: QUICK HELP NEEDED RE CONSTIPATION

Thanks so much ladies. I gave her the prune juice but she would only take about 2tsp of it. She she really got the taste of it, she scrunched up her face and her whole body shuttered! Chat Icon

I was able to get a bit of apple juice into her (my sister's recommendation). I hope it doesn't make things worse. If she wakes up during the night, she is getting the pear juice instead of milk.

If she is still like this tomorrow, I think I'll try adding the prune juice right to the milk bottle and see if she'll take it that way.

I appreciate the quick responses. Thanks. Chat Icon

Re: QUICK HELP NEEDED RE CONSTIPATION

An ounce should be good. Pear and prune def. work the best. We went through such a horrible time with my son with this. I was constantly calling the doctor! But it started between the age s of 1--2 it got so bad we had to keep track of how many days went by in between movements. SENAKOT was a life saver!!!! It seemed to be the only thing that worked. He would drink prune juice - & nothing! I couldn't beleive it! Senakot was always in my house. He grew out of it after awhile - but it took a long time and I had to watch his food intake- not too much of certain things per week. Good Luck and the prune juice should work. Please let us no.

Sorry to hear that. DS didn't mind the prune juice, but it didn't work for him. We ended up having to give him a suppository.

Hope she feels better soon!

Pear worked for Hayley and I would also use the thermomoter with vaseline. They also have Little Tummy's for Constipation.

Re: QUICK HELP NEEDED RE CONSTIPATION

Julia was constipated this weekend - we gave her 2 oz of prune juice and for breakfast I gave her prunes w/cereal - and it did the trick this morning.

My doctor also suggested 2 oz of water with one tbsp of brown sugar - haven't tried this method yet.
