Yankee Tickets

Here is a dumb question for you.

How much do tickets to a Yankee game cost - the best or at least really good seats?

I'm thinking to buy a gift certificate to a game for two. Where would I get it? How much should it be for?

Thanks.

Re: Yankee Tickets

It depends who they're playing. My DH & I went to Yankees -vs- Red Socks game and spent $$$$.
You can go to their website and purchase them there. Try to get seats in the field box area...good luck...a lot of them are already sold out.

Re: Yankee Tickets

The big problem with Yankee tickets is that the 'good seats' are held by corporate america / aka season ticketholders... so the average fan really does miss out

In order to get good seats to REALLY popular games (like Stefanie said, anything vs. the Sox is nearly impossible to find, even bleacher seats sell out), you pretty much have to 'know' someone or be willing to pay a broker and pay TOP dollar

If you are willing to go to a game during the week and/or against an unpopular team, your chance of getting good seats def. increases

All ticket prices are info on the gift certificates (Bomber Bucks) is listed on www.yankees.com website - I believe tickets go on sale this Friday

Here is a Link:

Seating/Pricing

Further info:

All 2006 New York Yankees regular-season home games will go on sale on Friday, December 16.

Beginning at 10:00 a.m., you can purchase tickets through the following channels:

via the internet - here at yankees.com
by phone, through Ticketmaster, by calling (212) 307-1212 (or check local listing)
at all Yankees Clubhouse Shops
at all area Ticketmaster outlets

Wow girls, you are a big help. Felicia thanks so much for the full details. I couldn't find that info on my own and I tried for some time before coming to you guys.
Yeah - a Bomber Bucks gift certificate done right from home. What could be better than this?
Again - thanks so very much. You are the best.

Just an FYI bomber bucks can only be used AT the stadium - so if you are planning on getting him them so that he can buy tickets he will have to go to the ticket window to use them - you won't be able to buy tickets online.

Do I have any other alternatives? I wasn't home all day so I didn't do anything yet.
I do want a gift certificate so he can get tickets to a game he chooses.

Re: Yankee Tickets

Well I am giving my husband tickets to two different games - I was in the same position - you can't use the american express gift cards online (I don't believe) and there is no way he would want to go to the box office - SO I am printing on my computer fake gc - that basically say that this coupon is good for $100 for 2 tickets - that way he "gets the tickets" but can actually pick the games himself then I will buy them online with him. So kind of best of both worlds. He gets the surprise but still gets what he wants.

I know my DH and with his crazy schedule it is hard for me to just pick games for him even though I know what games he would want to see - I don't want to force him to get tickets he won't be able to use.

Re: Yankee Tickets

There is one other choice I forgot about - If he won't mind going to a ticketmaster window/counter you could get him Ticketmaster gift certs so he can pick his game and not spend money on tolls to get to the stadium with the bomber bucks.

Etd to say ticketmaster gift certs can't be used online though

Do you have any idea what the surcharge is at Ticket master? I saw they have a location in his neighborhood too. Maybe that is the way to go this time.
Thanks everyone.

Re: Yankee Tickets

I don't know the exact amount - I think it is about $5 - but not sure - when I do them online it is about that much then I print the tickets (cost was like 1.50) - in the end it all evens out - DH figured that with Tolls and gas and time you come out ahead to do it thru ticketmaster. I think tolls are around $9 -then you facter in gas -
