I feel the same way, so what I do now is try to make some vacations a little shorter then others..
Instead of booking lets say something for a week, I try to do one big 10 day trip a year and many shorter 3 or 4 day ones..

I would love to do that.... just go around the world and see all the different countries!
I actually have a list of all the places I want to get to in my lifetime!

I do so many quotes to people and when they book all I keep thinking is oh please I am little fit me in your suitcase

That's a good idea.
Honestly, Long Islanders are lucky they live where they do...it's much easier to travel because you're so close to an international airport. Someone recently was giving me a hard time saying only 10% of Americans have passports...I tried to explain that it takes the majority of the country about a day and a half to get outside of the country between traveling to a domestic airport, flying to an international airport, and then transferring...and when you only have 2 weeks vacation...

You're right- when I was in Ireland over the summer we traveled with people from all over- Montana, Minnesota, Ohio. Their trips home were so much more involved than ours.
