I think Hell froze over - my company is being way too nice...
My office has been going through a major slump with Morale. It basically $ucks. All the employees are Pi$$ed off at management because their have been too manybroken promises. So today we had 2 big announcements:
Next Saturday the 25th they are shutting down the call center (since it's just me and another person) and having employee appreciation day. It will be at the home of the executive director and his wife which is right on the beach. Then dinner at 5.
2nd announcement was because we are a call center to make us feel more comfortable we can be casual all the time. YAHOO!!! Jeans all week long.
And......I saved the company $1,000 today and received a reward for it. The COO and Executive director made a big announcement and a big deal about it on the call center floor.
Did Hell freeze over

I promised my team I'd bring them donuts on Tuesday since they help make the calls for me. I did all the investigations and sat with accounting, but they helped make the phone calls.

WOW! More companies should do this when morale is low. It never dawns on them that maybe they could stop the mass exodus of employees and avoid the expense of training new ones if they just injected a bit of fun and appreciation.
I wish my principal could see this.

Thanks. I promised hubby I'd buy him ice cream and get me a manicure 
It feels nice to get appreciated. Companies need to do more for their employees. Without employees how can you run a company
