favors with a beach theme?

Antonio's 1st birthday is at the end of summer right before Labor Day. I was thinking of a summer/surfing theme.

Is it dumb to give "beach" favors if the summer is technically over?

I wanted to do the personalized sand pails with stuff inside.

Any thoughts? thanks

I think it's fine. Plus if you wait until August to get it, you'll save with clearance sales.

Beach favors (since I'm doing the same theme for Maddie's June birthday) are:

Kites
Frisbees
Beach balls
Shovels
Beach hats
Beach towels - you can probably get a good deal at the end of the summer

No not dumb at all! There is still time to enjoy the goodies and they can always be used, I say stick with your theme!

Barbara had great ideas - and in dollar tree they have character Beach Balls, arm floaties and swim rings for $1.
Kohls also had little sand sorter thingys for .99 (plus 15% of with their sale) and shovels but that would probaby come with your pail.
I also saw a set of sand molds I think 4 to a pack for $2.12 - you could give each child one in the pail, etc....
