Serious....anyone ever get this????UPDATE....at bottom..

I am 19.5 weeks. Today after a long day of work i layed down (on my back) for a few. as i started getting up i noticed my stomach took a funny shape. as i lifted my shirt (still half laying down almost like i was doing a sit up) I noticed my stomach had come to a point at my belly button with something sticking out!!! i touched it and it was round and HARD. it didn't move. i completely paniced! I got up and then repeated the position and it was still there. as i stood up i could still feel it. I called my Dr. she wasn't in and i left a message. the on call dr. had the receptionist call back and he said he wanted to see me if thing tomorrow morning....WHAT The hell is it? I thought it could be a hernia(SP) but it didn't hurt.

My friend had something similar happen to her - It turned out to be a cyst in her belly button, which the dr said is common. Why don't you call in the am? It never hurts for the dr to take a look.

Could it be a head or hiney?? How big was the bump? Right IN your belly button?

Was your WHOLE belly hard and pointed or just one small spot? If it was your whole belly, it could have been a contraction (they don't always hurt). I was told to watch for these types of contractions where they start in the back and move forward. I was also a lot further along than you, though, I think 26 weeks. I think they are a sign of back labor or something like that.

If you were in a 'crunch' position and saw your belly came to a peak and was really gross looking...I can tell you the same thing happened to me. The muscles and whatever else is there, stretches and tears to make room for the baby. Its normal - my dr said it was normal - although to me it was so gross looking.

I remember when I had an umbilical hernia it didn't hurt.

i thought u mean the whole thing changed shape - i didnt see the one round and hard spot!!! is it a hernia????

it turned out to be my stomach muscles moving to the side and the thing popping out was possibly my intenstines... YUCK

Did it eventually go away? I always joke with DH that it's Baby A's little butt - and I smack it going "stop sticking your butt at me!" Turns out in Lamaze they explained this as Braxton Hicks - when the baby curls almost into a ball and it gets hard - is this what it is?
