if I may interject 
if you are gonna go to Peter Luger's, you need to go to the ORIGINAL Luger's in Brooklyn.
The one on Northern is good, but doesn't hold a candle IMO

Thanks everyone...it's actually not for us, but good to know. I'm going to get a GC for someone who loves this place... but I didn't know there were two...hmmm... I don't know if her and her BF go to Brooklyn or Great Neck... but I guess the GC would be good at either.

Keep in mind, they only take cash, no CC's! You can def get a GC there though. You will just have to pay for it in cash!

The Brooklyn one is really easy to get to, it's right under the Williamsburg Bridge, so if the person works in the city it's a breeze. Even from LI it's not bad.

We just went there like 2 weeks ago. We went to Great Neck and everyone told me I should have went to Brooklyn. I did not find Great necks location impressive at all, service was slow and our bill was 250 for 2. I would have rather went to a manhattan steakhouse and saw the tree. JMO

Peter Luger is one of the best steakhouses although the one in Brooklyn is better than Great neck.
Keep in mind that dinner for 2 is at least $200....

The one is Brooklyn is the better one then the one in Great Neck. The only thing is the wait is a little longer and it is harder to get a reservation for the one in Brooklyn.

Just to repeat what everyone else has said...go to the one in Brooklyn. There is no comparison between the two, and the Brooklyn location is actually a little cheaper. DH and I can usually go for about $150, not counting the tip and including drinks or wine.
Mmmmmm...I can taste the steak even now.

wow! $150? I felt like I was spending my bank acct in great neck..jk
We had drinks steak and shared an ice cream sunday it was like 250 with tip. Is it really cheaper in brooklyn? bc this was so expensive.
FYI...If anyone wants a real good steakhose and totally inexpensive, go to J&R's Steakhouse. Its behind the smithhaven mall on 347. (theres one in mt sinai too I think)
marinated steaks are delicious!
