Umbilical Cord
How long did it take for your babies umbilical cord to fall off? Emily will be 3 weeks old on Thursday and she still has hers. I thought it would have fallen off by now.
We put alcohol on it almost every diaper change.

Her 3rd week the bulk of it fell off, and by the 4th week it was totally gone.

We did nothing to it and it fell off at 10 days. If you read up on this cords that are left alone fall off much fast because alcohol is still 30% water so it really doesn't help dry it out that fast.

Uhh Emma was 3 weeks and we alcoholed it and Jeremy was 2 weeks and we didnt alcohol it. Weird right...

I think it was in his early 3rd week - maybe late second. I remember it was earlier that I thought it would be. I used alcohol on the stump. The hospital NICU did that his first week and told me I should as well. Once it falls off my dr said no alcohol.
