60 Minutes tonight...
Did anyone catch it? There was a segment on fertility clinics, cryo-preservation, and what to do with stored embryos. I only caught the tail-end.

I saw it too.
Made me mad when that one guy said the parents shouldn't be involved in the decision on what to do w/the remaining embryos.
The "adoption option" they discussed seemed interesting.....

I didn't see this but I read the article.
I think it is ridiculous that embryos would go to waste instead of being used for research.
It is a very personal decision to donate embryos. I do admire people who do that, but not everyone wants to do that. So why can't these embryos used for another purpose that can help people in a different way?

I read the article and found it very interesting.
I did get upset about the whole research. When we signed papers as to what to do with the remaining embryos after 5 years, we decided to have them sent for medical reserach.
We had that choice, why is that any different than women going out and having abortions, so we cant decide what we want done to our own embryos?? This is one thing that upsets me about Bush.

Well EVERYthing about Bush upsets me.... but this guy they interviewed - the "ethical" guy - just made no sense. This is the dumbest thing to say....are all those "potential" embryos going to be adopted?? No. So....why not try to save the lives of people who do actually exist?? I hate this b/s....
