Jewish mommies to be or new mommies

are you planning on having a baby shower? and new mommies-did you have one? i am very conflicted on having one. please share with me your reasons why or why not too .

I am having one at work but thats it. I did uy all I need though and it is in my house in a closet. My parents live in Florida and my mom came up to helpo me get things

i know i would like one when the time would come. my mother always says its bad luck to put stuff in the babies room before the baby comes home

I'm definitely not. I am not comfortable with it. I am also not decorating the nursery or buying too much for the baby before she comes... just the necessities.

Also, personally- I think its a big handout- like give me a gift before the baby is born and then give me another gift when the baby is born for the briss or naming.

I did not have a shower. I was totally against it. Of course this is my opinion. but many of my friends who are Jewish did not have one.

I did do a registry and did the basics in Jacob's room,- painted and carpeted, and bought the necessities but other than that we got plenty of gifts after the baby was born and at the bris.

I am not planning on having a shower. I am planning on having a registry that will be turned on once I give birth.
