pap smear result question..

Ok I have told you all I am the biggest baby and terrified of doctors. I had my pap smear on 9/29, now if anything was wrong do you think the dr. would call me or would she wait to tell me the results in person at my next visit which is the end of October?

If anything was wrong they would call you. I still call my dr about a week or 2 after the appt to make sure everything was ok and the pap came back clear

Personally i think the doctor would of called you already, if something was wrong with the pap smear - but to be safe I would just give the doctor's office a call to confirm that everything is okay. They should definitely have the results by now and it will put your mind at ease.

I would think they would call me too, but the way i think I feel lke she would rather tell me in person.

Your pap smear probably came back good, if there was something wrong, you would have gotten a call by now.
Since you are obviously concerned about it, call the office and find out your results, don't wait until your next visit.

Listen, if there was ANYTHING wrong, they would have called you. If they wanted to talk to you in person, they would ask you to make an appointment to come in so they could discuss it with you. I would assume the results would be in within a week. If there was something wrong, I don't think they would wait until your next appointment unless you were coming in a week later (I assume your appointments are every 3-6 weeks).

I think that since you are so afraid of doctors, you should have a habit of calling the doctor one week after each appointment to make sure everything is fine. You could speak to a nurse practitioner or maybe even a nurse if everything is fine. You have a lot on your plate and a lot to worry about. I would do everything I can to eliminate this from your list of worries. By calling the doctor to verify, that is the best way.

I always call to follow up on any tests, I worked in a doctors office and DO not trust that labs will always send the results and the doctors don't always call to get them, they just wait to recieve them.

i was the same way.. if there is anything abnormal they would call.. I was paranoid tho.. and called them and they confirmed everything was just fine... With this pregnancy, they didnt even tell me good or bad.. I asked the next day cause I totally forgot!
