Sarah Jessica Parker’s Wedding Day Regret
Sarah Jessica Parker admits that she made her greatest fashion faux pas – not on the red carpet, but while walking down the aisle.
“I wore black on my wedding day, and I really regret that,” Parker says in the October issue of Marie Claire. “I was too embarrassed to get married in white, and both Matthew [Broderick, her husband of nine years] and I were reluctant to have people pay so much attention to us. Which is ridiculous, because that’s when you can relish the attention, when it’s natural. We treated it like it was a big party on a Monday night, and I regret it.”
The 41-year-old actress also confessed that she has difficulty balancing motherhood (she has a 3-year-old son, James Wilke) and being a good wife to Broderick. “I fall short of being good at both, not infrequently, but I assume it’s like golf: You can never master it, and you’re in competition with yourself,” she says. “With my son, it’s constantly learning, failing, triumphing, being befuddled and totally in love.”

I sooo wanted to wear black on my wedding day - I hate white dresses and white shoes and anyone who knows me knows that black is "my color".
I'm sorry she regrets it but I think it's great that she wore what she wanted to wear (at the time) and didn't conform to tradition or pressure.

I love her! She is so real.
And I knew she wore black and commended her for it but it is sad that she regrets it now. Oh well that is what vow renewels are for

Never really been a huge SJP fan, but I like her more cause she wore a black gown. That takes balls! (although it is sad that she regrets it - perhaps she can renew her vows and wear white)

she is, I saw the whole family last week at the airport and they were very nice and normal.
I think she looked great wearing that dress, very Carrie Bradshack.

I love her.
I heard the story differently. When asking her FI what to wear, Matthew told her "wear anything but white"...she believed him and wore black.
I wonder if that's true or something she made up to make herself feel better.
In any case. She looked lovely.
