The classroom supply list is huge! Besides the paper, pencils and crayons...there are another 25 items.
The classrooms don't even supply their own smocks these daysChat Icon

Also, are all schools full day?
I can't believe my liitle girl will be gone all dayChat Icon

My daughter is also going full day. The list isn't too bad but then I'm comparing it to my son's 2nd grade list which is as long as my arm.

I'm going to have both kids in school all day long, not sure what I'm going to do!

edit - I just noticed that your daughter turned 5 on Tuesday, happy birthday to her! My daughter will turn 5 tomorrow!

I've never seen a supply list that was so specific. BTW, I'm looking for a pencil case, not box - has to be canvas or plastic if you've seen them.

I'm starting to hyperventilate about the bus situation. He's going to sit on a bus with no seatbelt when I have him in a booster seat? How is this legal?

eta. My son is going to Catholic school because our public school is only a 1/2 day (2.5 hours). I need full day care. He goes from 8am-2:30 and then to the aftercare program until 5:30pm. If he only went 2.5 hours, he'd feel llike he was retired.

Re: mommies of kindergarteners(to be)

I don't think I have the full list. Patricks list is:
1. A large, top zipped schoolbag. There are the easiest to pack.

2. A small photograph for your mail can

3. A package of napkins

4. Two boxes of baby wipes

5. One box of tissues

6.One bottom fill plastic folder to carry important papers to and from school.

That's it!!! We go on Tuesday for orientation. I have a feeling I will get a bigger list then. I will by the essentials anyway.

Patrick is going 1/2 day. I think he is one of the few schools that still do this.

Barbara-Are you sure that they sit on the bus with no seatbelt? B/c my neice went to kindergarten last year and my brother said she was seatbelted into her seat. I was hoping that was the norm these days. Supply lists for kindergarten? Wow..I had no idea. I have one more year to enjoy not fighting those back to school crowds I guess.

I want to say that the mini buses have seatbelts and i know a driver(for the mini bus) that makes sure the kids are buckled... but I'm not sure about the big buses- I can't see that the newer ones don't have itChat Icon

Re: mommies of kindergarteners(to be)

Jordans list wasn't too bad, pretty basic stuff... pens, pencils, folders, erasers, glue sticks, crayons, sneakers for gym, purrell, etc.

I am TOTALLY freaking about my little man taking the bus though. I know he's really smart and he'll be fine, but I'm having a really hard time with the fact that he is going to be in Kindergarten. Chat Icon
ETA - and he's going for a FULL day!Chat Icon
