I think I have a belly sleeper!

Gianna is about 2.5 weeks old and refuses to sleep on her back at night. During the day when she naps, she'll fall asleep after a feeding, then I put her down. At night when I do the same she screams! She only wants to sleep on her tummy, or on her tummy on my chest especially at night.

I know it's bad, but out of sheer exhaustion (plus i am still in pain), I let her sleep on my chest for a couple hours then put her down. After the first time she goes right back into her crib and will sleep there the rest of night even after her 3-4am feeding.

Is this so wrong? I am worried I am creating a BIG sleeping issue for the future.

belly sleeping is not an issue if done safely...when we were babies it was the thing to do.

My only suggestion is to put her on her side or continue trying for the back until she can pick her head up and move it for breathing purposes.
