Kitchen- Ideas or PIcs

I need some ideas/pics for the kitchen. We are in the process of renovating the kitchen and have purchased light wood color cabinets (i think its maple color) with silver handles and laminate countertops that are speckled grey, beige, black and white (so not really dark or light in color, and you probably have seen it in HD). What color would look good as the backsplash and wall? I have been trying to look for kitchen pics, but not many show light color cabinets.

Any suggestions? Also it is a galley kitchen so I was told not to paint the walls too dark otherwise it would look too small, but then again the cabinets are light, so I am torn.

Please help.

We have light colored cabinets and the walls are painted a very light yellow.
