am i crazy?? tell me I am crazy!
some of you might have read my post about a dog I found the other day.
Well...we are considering adopting him....but part of me is nagging saying I am crazy to do so 2 months before our baby is here.
I am crazy - right - I shouldn't do it?!
(eta: the dog is SWEET - trained, loving - all anyone could ask for in a dog!)

I wish I could tell you that you're crazy - but I cannot ..
That dog is so darned cute and I do think that you can handle it - he came into your life for a reason, maybe that reason was that he needed a caring, loving new "Mommy" (and I'm sure he'll love getting to know his little baby brother or sister that is on the way  )
You are a caring and compassionate person for wanting this, and that def. does not make you crazy!

I definitely don't think you are crazy. This dog came to you for a reason, I think it's great that you are going to try to adopt him

BUT i don't think i could be thinking of adoption when there are most likely owners missing the dog.
I think you should allow more time to pass for someont to claim the dog! I feel bad for them if they are missing their pet!

I would give it some more time to find his family but if no one comes around and you've exhausted all efforts to find them, I'd say keep him. If he's no bother in terms of disipline, convenience, etc. he would make an excellent addition to the family.
I had two doggies and a cat at home when I had Amber and let me tell you, they are all crazy about each other. Amber is VERY pet oriented (which could be a bad thing as she gets older and drags every stray in the neighborhood home ) and my one dog (Sprinkles) is particularly fond of the baby. Sleeps under her crib, checks on her throughout the night and in the morning. She's like a little mother's helper. Pets can add so much joy to a household and they will bond and grow together. Again, if you can't find his family, I would make him a part of my own

I have posted signs EVERYWHERE for this dog - and the woman who has him now waits at least two weeks to find the owner - I couldn't or wouldn't take him before then - I am SURE someone is really missing this little guy and I would love to find them!

I wouldnt wait longer than 2 weeks either. Like I have said...when I found the dog last year, I did everything in my power to find her owner first. Came down to the conlusion that, these people mistreated this dog and they didnt really WANT her back. If you put fliers out and made phone calls then I say definately keep him! He is adorable and like a lot of others have said...maybe this happened for a reason!

I think its really cool that you are going to keep the dog. Just keep in mind that if the owners ever do show up... to be ready to part with him.
But I guess that would be cool too... to get the dog back to the rightful owner.

He is absolutely precious, and if he's a good dog, why not? I am an animal lover myself, and if I were in your shoes I would probably do the same thing.

not crazy at all!!! A dog is a great family addition, but make sure you understand all the ramifications....walking ,feeding, when the baby comes....
