What classifies someone as high risk?

I was reading a few posts and noticed that some of you posted that you were high risk. How does that get classified. I have had some spotting through out and was wondering if I should see a high risk doctor.

I am high risk because I have a low lying placenta, the baby had a cyst on her brain, I was not supposed to be able to have children because of a hormone problems and I started spotting at 20 Weeks. I think I am high risk because of my group of problems.

I know that most pregnant women who are 35 or older and considered high risk, but there are many other factors that can make you considered high risk as well.

I had gestational diabetes and then they made me see high risk specialists. Although I didn't feel high risk - I felt 100% fine.

I was considered or still am considered (I don't know) high risk becuase I had two miscarriages prior to this pregnancy..

I will be high risk during my next PG due to haveing a still born, multiple infections and pre term labor, then a M/C.
Everyones situation to be high risk is different.

Could be due to previous pre term labor, diabetes, high blood pressure, bleeding, age etc...

I was high risk because I have uterine fibroids. At first all was normal but half way through I started to experience pelvic due to the fibroids and then they put me on bedrest as a precaution because fibroids can sometime cause premature labor. But I was not told I needed a specialist.
