Carpeting from Lowe's - Update: ARGH!
So we ordered carpeting from Lowe's for the bedroom... they were having a sale up to 10/1 that you get the carpet pad free. The weird thing is that they charge $35 for someone to come and measure the room.  Oh and they charge less for installation if you have bare floors and no furniture in the room. I cant wait! A carpet in the bedroom is so cozy.

I also paid Lowes $35.00 to measure my windows for blinds, then ordered from them without it being credited toward the purchase. It is Home Depot that credites the amout if you purchase what they measured. Maybe if you go to home depot and find out the details you can try to get Lowes to match their policy. Good luck,

We went to both, I thought Lowes also said they credited.  I guess not. It's worth a shot when you go to pick out the carpet and pay, say you are unsure and ask if they will credit the $35

I LOVE carpet in the bedroom! DH says that he wants wood floors in the bedroom with an area rug. I told him to go marry someone else

Not too happy with them already.
We get charged $35 for the measurement, then 2 days later the rep calls us to give us the installation cost and the dumb guy said that he had to rip up carpet and there isnt any!!  And we had down what kind of carpet we want and they "lost" the order. Then we had to remind them about the free carpet pad offer.
I am seriously thinking about eating the $35 and going with another comapny.

We are considering the same thing. The estimate was a lot higher than we thought it would be with the discount. We are going to look other places.
