what kind of carpet
would be best for an upstairs hallway and 3 bedrooms ( 2 kids rooms) that can handle wear and tear?

We had plush carpets in our last place, and I hated the wear that you could see after time. I wanted something more durable this time, but I didn't want a real Berber like people recommend. So I got a berber-looking type that is looped, but it was Ralph Lauren and still really soft. They're great so far.

We got a nice carpet from Home Depot (although I wouldn't recommend using them to install ) It has a diamond pattern in it, sorta a berber I guess, but it's a low pile. We have it on the stairs, and hallway and through 2 kids bedrooms and it's held up GREAT so far...
