North Fork winery experts

Although I've visited the north fork quite a few times, I'm not familiar with the wineries. About 10 or more of us wanted to visit and I need your help making a schedule. In your experience which are the best wineries that are happy to accomodate large groups and which ones are open to bringing your own food? If your bored and have the time, please feel free to suggest a schedule. We'd like to visit between 4-6 wineries. Thanks!!

Pindar - definitely can accomodate a large group of people. Not sure about the food thing. I know that you can purchase cheese and crackers from the bar.

Osprey's Dominion - definitely accomodating AND you can bring your own food. They usually have a live band on weekends.

Raphael--La Fontana is a delicious easy drinking red
Castello di Borghese
I really dislike Pindar; tastings are free and you tend to get a lot of people trying to get drunk on like, 1/2 cups of wine.
Lieb
Macari--excellent Chardonnay and ice wines

Oh! Bedell Cellars was recently redone and you can bring food there

Re: North Fork winery experts

I just checked the Pindar website and they said they dont accomodate birthday or bachlorette parties. Not that we're a rowdy crowd, but we will be celebrating my 30th. Chat Icon

Re: North Fork winery experts

I would call them. I think that might mean that they don't shut the place down for those kinds of parties.
If there are just 10 of you, I don't see them not letting you in..............

Re: North Fork winery experts

We just went last Monday. Laurel Lake was really nice, great outside deck area where you can bring your own food and relax. Bedell was really nice, and Macari as well. Enjoy!Chat Icon

Re: North Fork winery experts

I would highly recommend Osprey's Dominion. We went recently for my sister's bachelorette party and they had a lovely areas set up in the back where we had lunch and dessert. They also had live music while we were there, so that was a nice touch.

We also visited Pellegrini and they were very accomodating. They have a small sitting area outside where we snacked on some cheese and crackers while sampling their wine.

Make sure you call ahead and let them know you have a large group because we were actually turned away from some vineyards becasue of the size of our group.
