Question about cleaning services

I just got an estimate from a cleaning service to clean my house every two weeks.

To give you an idea, I have an expanded ranch.

4 bedrooms - 2 downstairs on the main level, 2 upstairs

3 1/2 baths - 2 bathrooms on the main level, 1 bathroom upstairs and a half bath in the basement

I've asked that they clean the following:

2 downstairs bedrooms/bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, den, family room and front entranceway- not the living room, because it's completely empty

Basement and 1/2 bath

It may not sound like alot, but the rooms are big. The house is very deceiving from the outside and is much larger than one might expect.

I was quoted $90 per visit, which would be $180/month

I'm just curious, does this sound reasonable, or way out of the ballpark?

I lived in an apartment before, and had a cleaning service that cost me $80 a month, but then again, that was only 3 rooms they were cleaning!

That sounds good to me. You have a pretty big house. I was quoted anywhere from $70 - $100 for my house and that is for only 3 bedrooms 2 bath and a small kitchen, dinning room, living room.

We have a smaller house....3 br's, 3 ba's...we were quoted $75 for every 2 weeks and $60 for every week....it's cheaper if you do it every week, becuase it's easier to maintain. These prices are from almost 2 years ago, when we moved in...and she has not raised our rates, so I don't know if she charges more for new customers. We have her come every week.

Thanks Ladies! I think DH is pretty on board with whatever it's going to cost to clean the house, since he will have a happier wife on his hands

Sounds reasonable from a cleaning service. I was quoted about $100 for biweekly cleaning for 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, kitchen, family room, living room, dining room and that was 3 years ago. For someone doing it privately - it was more like $80ish.

I pay 60 every 2 weeks, and my house is tiny

That sounds like a great price to me. I was paying close to that for a one br apt.

Good price..but I would have them clean your living room. The floors, baseboards, windowsills and mouldings will get dusty.
