How often does/did your newborn eat?
Kevin seems to be hungry every two hours between the 4 AM - 9 PM each day. He takes between 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 ounces per feeding.

Right now he's eating almost 4oz (just under)every 3 hours. He was 2 weeks old on Thursday. Are you nursing, formula feeding or both? That makes a difference in how often they eat too.

Re: How often does/did your newborn eat?
Sidney is 2 weeks old and eats 2-2.5 oz breast milk every 2 hours...sometimes she wants it sooner than that. She is 7 lbs. I've resorted to a pacifier to calm her between feedings because I feed 30 minutes per breast (plus burping and diaper change) so our feedings last 1.5 hrs so I only get about 30 minutes break. I'm clueless about what is the right thing to do!!!

Re: How often does/did your newborn eat?
When aidan was born he would want to BF every 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. My dr said to try and hold off to at least 2 1/2 to 3 hrs, his reasonings were: 1. your sanity 2. you need to give their tummys time to digest the milk. sometimes they spit because you are mixing old milk w/ new milk. 3. you want to try to introduce a schedule early on.
