Gifts to bring to ex NYers living in FL? (Floridians, what do you miss?)
We're visitng family and friends in Fl (TOMORROW!  ) and I wanted to bring something small. IS there anything that you can only get in NY?
Like bagesl or something?
Anything else?

My flight is at 6am. Do you think if I buy bagels and/or cookies tonight they will still be good?
Do bakeries open by 5:30am?
(I'm lucky enough to live 5 min from the airport)

My brother has lived in florida for the last 15 years now and misses the following which I'm bring him in 2 weeks when we visit:
BAGELS
NY PIZZA
MOZZERELLA CHEESE
ITALIAN SAUSAGE

This is what I did too. I know you're bringing but just an FYI:
H&H Bagels also ships overnight if you ever need to do that. I've send Juniors cheesecake overnight as well.

We're seeing a lot of people. My 2 surrogate dads, doug's aunt and uncle, doug;s parents who are down there for the summer, his grandparents..that's a lot of bagel!

there is a place called 24 HOT Bagels in Hauppauge. Anytime my mom visits my uncle in Jacksonville or my Aunt in Little Falls, NY (update, way update), she goes there. They are baked fresh every 4-6 hours!! Its right at the intersection of 347 & 111 in the Hess/Piano shopping center

I hope it wasn't hot and delicous..the people on the plane would have jumped her for it, I bet.
if I had a hot pizza on a plane, i think I'd end up eating it before I got there. Hee hee!

There is a pizza place that will ship NY pizza - NY Pizza
Maybe you could also bring some Long Island wine. Might be the easiest to carry?

My SIL has a home in FL...she spent the summer with the boys down there and she says the ONLY thing that she cannot find is Bagels! She said it took some time to find NY Pizza, but it's there... Still...no Bagels! When she comes home next week we're bringing over a few dozen bagels to welcome them home!

Ya know some bagel places ship direct. This way you can get them the cream cheese and any other perishables they may want. Maybe they like lox?
I think Town Bagel ships.

What part of Florida are you visiting?
We have a vacation home in West Palm Beach (Delray area) and I find EVERYTHING there!
Two great Italian pastery/bake shops (owners were NYers originally) NY style pizza, bagel shop and even an indoor Italian specialty market- similar to Aurther Ave or Little Italy

My girlfriend and her DH were just in from Florida and they brought home something like 60 bagels, egg rolls and pizza. They froze it all before bringing it down with them. She told me they each gained a few pounds during the week they were here.
