Very bad lower back pain...

Ladies... I have no idea why I get this on and off. Every once in a while I get these sharp lower back pains only on the right side. I can hardly move. It happens a lot. For 15-20 it will hurt really bad when I stand up and I'm limping around because with every step I take with my right leg/foot it kills me. Then after a few minutes it just goes away like it was never there? It's weird. Last night I got it while I was sleeping. My son woke up and was crying for me so I tried to get out of bed, and OMG the pain, I had to slowly manuever my way into his room. When I went back to bed and got up this morning, it was completely gone? WTH??? Any ideas? Is it the way the baby is positioned or could it be something else? Thanks!

Sounds like sciatica or the baby pressing on a nerve.

I agree. But if you still feel nervous about it, i would give your dr. a call.

I'm not nervous about it, it just hurts!!!

I thought sciatica (sp?) was a constant pain? I could be wrong. I'm thinking more of the baby sitting on a nerve since it comes and goes. I'll have to see if it gets any worse!

I have been reading your posts and I think part of it might be how much you are doing around your home and it is putting a toll on your body. I use scrub the house and let me tell you the next day I paid for it and I would have to lay down so maybe you should relax a little.

I think it could be a lot of things! I would def mention it to your doctor, but maybe you are doing too much at home and it also sounds like Sciata. Does it go down your butt and the back of your legs?

Maybe I am doing too much! It's hard not to though especially with a 2.5 yr old around!

It doesn't go anywhere but this specific spot, and it's always the same spot.

I'm going to take it a little easier and try not to do too much and move a little slower.

I had this! for a few weeks, it was my right side - thought it was sciatica (and what "What to expect from your pregnancy" said might happen aroudn that time!) - it would only happen at night/nigthtime and boy did it hurt.....but never had ti during the day - it cracked me up, dh and i would joke that I was fine all day and the minute I would drive into the driveway it kicked in....I found that the more I kept moving the better....thats why night and sleeping was the worst.....

but then magically it disappeared....then I had some pressure in my lower back for a week...then that disappeared....

then the same pain came back on my left side.....(couldn't be sciatica again I thought!) - so I asked my ob and she siad its normal could be the baby leaning on something (bad girl! ) - but good news - IT PASSED NOW TOO! so hopefully, you won't have it too much longer!!!
