Re-post from parenting..pls. help regarding maternity leave. need help with wording a letter

I saved my 2 weeks vacation for this maternity leave - my boss paid me under the NEW SALARY of my 4 day week, which I started in my 9th month of pregnancy. HOW RUDE IS THAT ?

I worked that schedule 1 month only, I should be paid for my vacation based on the OTHER 11 months, it is a difference of $300.00 !!

How can I write and word an e-mail without sounding harsh or ungrateful for his maternity leave policy for me ?

thanks all!

In most companies you accrue days based on how many days/hours you've worked. Look into your companies policy and to double check how they do it. If you find that you have accrued 10 days, then I wouldn't even send an email. I would mention it directly to your boss. Just be honest, say something like, "I'm very greatful that you've been flexible with my schedule this past month, but I was overlooking my maternity policy and saw that I'm only getting paid for 8 vacation days, but since I worked full time the entire year I've accrued 10."
