Setting up the crib

We painted the baby's room and are slowly starting to set things up. Are you setting up the crib with all of the bedding or are you waiting till its time for your DS/DD to sleep in the crib?

She will be sleeping in the packnplay bassinet for the first few weeks and don't know if I should set up the crib or not?

We set the crib up before she was born. Even though she slept in our room for the 1st 2 months, I would put her in there while I cleaned her room, folded her laundry, etc. Just so she would get used to being it in a little at a time.

Mine is all up and has been for probably a month now. I did it so early b/c it was my son's playroom and I wanted to get him used to it b/f the baby got here so he wouldn't be jealous. He has adjusted quite well. Also I will be putting the baby in there for naps during the day b/c my bedroom is upstairs away from the busy side of the house and plus I want the baby to get used to the crib. I didn't w/my son & it was hard to get him in it.

do you feel that setting it up early leaves it open to collect dust?

We set it up.

When we get there, I will set up everything, so it is done

I will have everything set up before the baby is born. Even though the baby will be in our room at night, I want the baby to nap in his crib so he can get used to it, and when we do transition to the crib full time it won't be so bad.
