Anyone know anything about sexual harrassment
This is not for me.....Just curious on the procedures and next steps are once a situation has been determined a "sexual harrassement"
Situation: About 3 weeks ago a bunch of my collegues had gone out to an Indian restaurant for dinner. I chose not to go as it was a week before the convention and I still had a lot to do. I just found out today from the 19 year old girl why she hates one of our collegues so much and why she was in the COO's office all morning.
Apparently the night of the dinner one of the guys (he is 35 and going through a huge maritial mess. His wife moved back to Colorado) offered to drive her home as she had no car and also had a few drinks that night.
So en route to HER home, he says to her oh lets go to my apartment. I have to get something. So she goes. She sits on the couch and nods out as he goes to the bedroom. While he is "digging" for something he starts to offer her wine and she refuses. He then offers her a t-shirt, invites her to get comfy and offers to give her a massage. She starts to feel extremely uncomfortable and asks to leave. He tells her to relax. She started calling friends for someone to pick her up and bring her home. When he realized he was getting no where he went to his bedroom and just stayed there. She got a ride home from a friend.
Afterwards he has been a real jerk to her. He gives her dirty looks and talks down to her. He has to pass her desk every time he leaves and/or goes on a break just the thought of him walking down the hallway creeps her out. She told this to one of the other guys in the office (he was at convention with us) and he told the COO as something like this can really effect her job performance. The COO took this matter extremely seriously. He called her into the office and spoke with her. Then he called the guy in and spoke to him. The guy denied everything. He made it sound like she was drunk and is making all of this up. The COO knows that is not the case but he still has to take appropriate investigative actions.
She told me all that is being done now is "an investigation"
What type of investigation will they do? Will this guy loose his job?? (I hope he does because Icant stand him. He lied about something and when he got caught he tried to pin it all on me and it caused me to get into a heap of meetings and lectures)
TIA
