we had our house converted to gas about 3 years ago. the oil burner and hot water heater were replaced. Including removal of the tank the total cost of the job was around $6500

Let me know if you want the company's number that we used

i switched from oil heat to gas heat and KeySpan gave me the boiler for free. The plumber for the hook-up cost about $1,500 (I probably could have gotten it cheaper but it was February and I didn't have heat - no time to bargain hunt!).

We just had it done this winter and it was $4000 for a new boiler and hot water heater.
